SOLUTION

From the question

The given triangle is a right angle hence Pythagorean theorem will be applied

The hypotenuse is given to be 18 cm

And one of the leg of the triangle is 13 cm

let the length of the other leg be x

Then using Pythagorean theorem, it follows:


x^2+13^2=18^2

Solve the equation for x


\begin{gathered} x^2+169=324 \\ x^2=324-169 \\ x^2=155 \\ x=√(155) \\ x=12.45 \end{gathered}

Therefore the length of the third side of the right triangle is 12.45 cm
