Looking at the figure, we see that there are 6 identical squares of side 26 yd.

We know that the area of a square of side L can be calculated using the formula:


A=L^2

Now, if there are 6 squares, the total area is:


A_{\text{Total}}=6\cdot L^2

From the problem, L = 26 yd, then:


\begin{gathered} A_{\text{total}}=6\cdot26^2 \\ \therefore A_(Total)=4056yd^2 \end{gathered}
