Adaptation is the biological mechanism by which organism alter to new environments or to changes in their current environment.

Coniferous forest is a terestial biome found mostly in areas with warm summers and cool winters that vary in their kinds of plant life.

Coniferous trees have thick bark to protect against the cold. The coniferous trees have needle shaped leaves. The needles don'r decay like deciduous leaves because they contain too many chemicals and waxes for that. They break down slowly and form the soil to be even more nutrient-limited.
