= 2πr(h + r) - πr²

Where,

r = 9 cm

h = 8 cm

π = 3.14

Plug in the values into the equation

Area of the open cylinder with one base = 2*3.14*9(8 + 9) - 3.14*9²

= 56.52(17) - 254.34

= 960.84 - 254.34

= 706.5 cm²
