Answer:

x = 11.5, y = -5.5.

As an ordered pair this is (11.5, -5.5).

Explanation:

2x+4y=1 Multiply this by 3:

3x+5y=7 Multiply this by -2.

6x + 12y = 3

-6x - 10y = -14 Adding these 2 equations:

0 + 2y = -11.

y = -11/2

y = -5.5.

Now plug this into the first equation:

2x + 4(-5.5) = 1

2x = 1 + 22

x = 23/2

x = 11.5.
