to solve first divide the total perimiter (40cm) by 4

this would allow 10cm for each side to allow the longer side to be 2 cm longer than the height we must subtract 1cm (for a total of 2cm) from each side of the rectangle, this would result in the shorter side having a length of 9cm

40=2 x (9+11)
