Property Fact Patterns:
1. Dean goes to Foodland to buy groceries for his large family. He buys $200 worth of food for his
family and writes a check to pay for it. He knows that he does not have the funds in his account
to pay for the food. He lost his job because his company moved to another city.
2. Loren is tired of milking the cows. He burns down his father’s barn, so he will not have to do his
chores.
3. Courtney and Rodney go to Wells Fargo Bank. Courtney passes a note to the teller and a large
envelope. The note says to fill the envelope with large bills from the cash drawer or he will
shoot her with the gun in his pocket. Rodney stands near the door as the police lookout. Both
leave the bank with the envelope of money.
4. Eleanor is mad that her grandmother gave her cousin the family “Bible.” While her cousin is on
vacation, she breaks into her home to steal it but is unable to locate where her cousin left it.
She leaves with nothing.
5. Angelo goes to Mexico and get some knock off jeans. He brings them into the U.S. and offers
them for sale at this shop with a new designer brand label. He makes big money on the fake
jeans.
6. James and his wife Dolly have separate bank accounts. James signs his wife’s name on a check
without her permission and then he takes it to the bank to be deposited into his own account.
7. Doug is walking home from a nightclub when two men – Harry and Wilmer—approach him.
They punch him in the face but no broken bones and demand his wallet. Both men run off with
his wallet. There was no money in the wallet.
8. Barbara, Laura, and George live in a resort area but not in the fancy homes. While the
homeowners are away for a 3 month European vacation, the three decide to “visit” the home—
eating their food and watching television without the permission of the owners.
9. Millard hates being single. Yet Sarah doesn’t want anything to do with him. He decides to go to
her apartment “to convince” her otherwise. He takes duct tape and ropes to help. He opens
her patio window door, enters, and finds that she is gone.
10. Julie’s sister Renee is an artist. They develop a plan to “discover” a Picasso at a “garage sale.”
Renee re-paints a copy and makes it appear to be the real thing. They take it to the NY Met
where it is received as the real thing.
