Given:

Volume of trailer space = 180 cubic ft

Height of trailer, h = 7.5 ft

Width of trailer, w = 4 ft

Perimeter of base of the trailer, P = 20 ft

Let's find the dimensions of the trailer.

Apply the perimeter of a rectangle formula:

P = 2L + 2W

Input values into the formula:

20 = 2L + 2(4)

20 = 2L + 8

Subtract 8 from both sides:

20 - 8 = 2L + 8 - 8

12 = 2L

Divide both sides by 2:

\begin{gathered} (12)/(2)=(2L)/(2) \\ \\ 6=L \\ \\ L=6 \end{gathered}

The length of the trailer is 6 ft

The width of the trailer is 4 ft (the width was given)

ANSWER:

Length of the trailer = 6 ft

Width of the trailer = 4 ft
