why do you think the protagonist killed the old man and then confessed? Is he truly mad, or is he a calculated killer?

Answer and Explanation:

- Because the old man's vulture eye tormented him and he had to rid himself of it forever. The evidence in the story proves that the narrator is mentally unstable. His insanity is well-hidden behind the facade of a calculated killer; however, his true insanity is shown times throughout the story
