To find the slope, we use the points (-1, -1,) and (0,2).

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)

Where,

\begin{gathered} x_1=-1 \\ x_2=0 \\ y_1=-1 \\ y_2=2 \end{gathered}
m=(2-(-1))/(0-(-1))=(2+1)/(1)=3

The slope is 3.

The y-intercept refers to the point where the line touches the vertical axis.

The y-intercept is (0,2).

Then, we use the point-slope formula to find the equation

\begin{gathered} y-y_1=m(x-x_1) \\ y-(-1)=3(x-(-1)) \\ y+1=3x+3 \\ y=3x+3-1 \\ y=3x+2 \end{gathered}

The equation of the line is y = 3x + 2.
