Let l be the length and w the width of the rectangular garden

Since its area is 300 ft², we have:

l*w = 300 ft²

Since the length is three times its width, we have:

l = 3w

Replacing l with 3w in the first equation, we have:

3w² = 300

w² = 100

w = 10 ft

Then, the length is given by:

l = 3*10

l = 30 ft

Answer:

length = 30 ft

width = 10 ft
