If I remember right Boss Tweed had been a political machine who required the goodwill of the public so he could stay in power and grind money. This guy called Nast Thomas I believe made political cartoons that let people know of what Boss Tweed was doing, and so people turned against Boss Tweed. Now that people were against him, I believe Boss tweed had been arrested, or he had lost his power. Sorry if it’s a little confusing it’s been a few months since I learned this. Hope this helps!
