Answer:

y = 3x - 3

Explanation:

the equation of a line in slope- intercept form is

y = mx + c ( m is the slope and c the y- intercept )

given the line with equation

g(x) = 3x - 1 ← in slope- intercept form

with slope m = 3

Parallel lines have equal slopes , then

y = 3x + c ← is the partial equation

to find c, substitute (4, 9 ) for x and y into the partial equation

9 = 3(4) + c = 12 + c ( subtract 12 from both sides )

- 3 = c

y = 3x - 3 ← equation of parallel line
