volume for a cylinder is area of base times height
find the area of the base by using the area of a circle formula πr^2

3.14(12)^2
12^2=144

144x3.14=452.16

452.16 is the area of the base, so multiply it by the height of the cylinder

452.16x17=7686.72

your answer is 7686.72 cm3
