Aaron began playing baseball at a young age. He was a natural athlete and quickly excelled at the game. He played both baseball and football in high school, but it was baseball that he truly loved.

Hank Aaron was born in Mobile, Alabama, in 1934. He was one of eight children. His father, Herbert Aaron, was a shipyard worker and his mother, Estella, was a homemaker. Aaron's parents instilled in him a strong work ethic and a love of sports.

In 1951, Aaron was signed by the Indianapolis Clowns of the Negro American League. He played for the Clowns for one season before being drafted by the Milwaukee Braves of Major League Baseball.

Aaron made his major league debut in 1954. He went on to have a long and successful career, hitting 755 home runs, the most in baseball history. He also won three Gold Glove Awards and was elected to the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1982.
