The population of dear is predicted to decline by 5% this year.

If the current population is;

P_0=560

Then the population predicted for next year would be;

\begin{gathered} P_1=P_0-5\text{ \% of }P_0 \\ P_1=P_0-(5)/(100)P_0 \\ P_1=P_0-0.05P_0 \\ P_1=0.95P_0 \end{gathered}

Substituting the value of the current population, we have;

\begin{gathered} P_1=0.95(560) \\ P_1=532 \end{gathered}

Therefore, the predicted population for next year is 532.
