The total change in water level Over the two years is 3½ inches

Using the parameters given for our Calculation;

  • Change in year 1 = - 2⅓ inches
  • Change in year 2 = -1⅙ inches

The total change in water level can be calculated as ;

  • Change in year 1 + Change in year 2

Now we have

- 2⅓ + (-1⅙)

- 2⅓ - 1⅙

= - 3½

Hence, the total change in water level Over the two years is 3½ inches .
