To calculate the probability we use the formula:


P(A)=\frac{result\text{ }wanted}{total\text{ }population}

In this case, the result wanted is the number of males that have taken 1 to 2 art courses. In the table we can see that result wanted = 8

The total population is all the population where we are taking the data. IN this case, is given that the selected student is a male, thus the total is the sum of all male students: 32

Then:


P(1\text{ }to\text{ }2\text{ }art\text{ }course)=(8)/(32)=0.25

The answer is 0.25
