Different religion and their description
Shinto is the traditional religion of Japan and is a big part of their history and culture. It's a belief system that worships many spirits and gods called kami. These spirits are believed to live in nature and ancestors.
Pure Land Buddhism, also called Amidism, is a type of Buddhism that many people in East Asia, including Japan, follow. It is about believing in Amitabha Buddha and the Pure Land, a special place where followers want to be born again after they die.
Zen Buddhism, also called Chan in Chinese, is a type of Buddhism that started in China and then went to other parts of East Asia, like Japan. Zen focuses a lot on sitting still and quiet (called zazen) and personal experience to reach enlightenment.
