Initially the consumption is 162,000 kW per day, after the reduction in production the consumption is 72,000 kW per day.

How to find the energy consumption?

Here we have 3 machines, each consume 4500 kW per hour, and these are on 12 hours per day, son the expected consumption is given by the product:

E = 3*4500 kWh*12h

E = 162,000 kW

After the reduction in the production, only 2 machines are used and 8 hours per day, then the energy consumption now is:

E' = 2*4500kWh*8h = 72,000 kW
