Since the three triangles are similar, then their sides and angles are similar too

Let us compare the sides of the triangle

Triangle RST looks like it was rotated anticlockwise to give triangle UVW

Following the labelings, we can see that the angle V corresponds to the angle s

Thus, mathematically, by finding the sine of angle S, we have the sine of angle V

The sine of an angle is the ratio of the length of the opposite to the hypotenuse

The opposite side is the side that faces the angle we want to calculate. That is the length 3

The hypotenuse is the side that faces the right-angle and also is the longest side

Hence, we have the sine of angle S as;
