Part a.

In order to find f(4) we need to substitute the value x=4 into the given function, that is,


f(4)=2(4)+3

which gives


\begin{gathered} f(4)=8+3 \\ f(4)=11 \end{gathered}

Then, the ordered pair (4,11) is included in the function f(x).

Part b.

Similarly to the previous case, we need to substitute x=-1 into the function, that is,


f(-1)=2(-1)+3

which gives


\begin{gathered} f(-1)=-2+3 \\ f(-1)=1 \end{gathered}

So the ordered pair (-1,1) is included in the function f(x).
