Given the following inequality:

$2z-2\leqslant-8$

We will solve the inequality as follows:

First, add 2 to both sides

$\begin{gathered} 2z-2+2\leqslant-8+2 \\ 2z\operatorname{\leqslant}-6 \end{gathered}$

Second, divide both sides by 2

$\begin{gathered} (2z)/(2)\operatorname{\leqslant}(-6)/(2) \\ \\ z\operatorname{\leqslant}-3 \end{gathered}$

So, the answer will be, the solution using interval notation is as follows:

$(-\infty,-3]$
