Step-by-step explanation: tax is added after payment so 12 + 5% or 100% + 12% = 112% of 12. There are many ways to solve for this, I used number line starting out because it was easiest for me, just divide 12 by 100 and put that into 1% then multiply that 1% number by 112 and you get 112%.
