first you will convert -2 1/3 to an improper fraction which will leave you with -7/3 - (-5) then you remove the parentheses which will change -7/3 - -5 to -7/3+5 since two negatives = a positive. Then make the denominators the same by multiplying 5 by 3, then you have -7+15

then you will subtract -7+15 to get you
8/3 and then simplify the improper fraction to get the difference of 2 2/3

your final answer is 2 2/3
