To answer this question we will use the following formula for the slope of a line that passes through (x₁,y₁) and (x₂,y₂):

m=(y_2-y_1)/(x_2-x_1)\text{.}

Substituting (x₁,y₁)=(8,-9) and (x₂,y₂)=(-3,4) in the above formula, we get:

m=(4-(-9))/(-3-8)\text{.}

Simplifying the above result we get:

m=(4+9)/(-11)=(13)/(-11)=-(13)/(11)\text{.}

Answer:

-(13)/(11)\text{.}
