Sine doesn't have an inverse, until you restrict the domain to -pi/2 to pi/2. If you don't restrict the domain, then the inverse doesn't exist. Im going to assume the domain is restricted.

Switch the x and y values


x= \pi/4+ \sin(y)

Subtract pi/4 on both sides


x- \pi/4= \sin(y)

Take the arcsine of both sides


\arcsin(x- \pi/4)=y
