Givne data:

The mass of truck is m=2650 kg.

The initial speed of truck i s u=39 km/h.

The acceleration of truck is v=62 km/h.

Part (a)

The magnitude of initial momentum can be calculated as,

\begin{gathered} p_i=mu \\ p_i=(2650kg)((39km)/(h)*\frac{1\text{ m/s}}{(3.6km)/(h)}) \\ p_i=28708.3\text{ kgm/s} \end{gathered}

Thus, the initial momentum is 28708.3 kgm/s.

Part (b)

The direction of initial momenum will be same as the direction of velocity, i.e. north.

The direction of initial momentum is north.

Part (c)

The magnitude of final momentum of truck will be,

\begin{gathered} p_f=mv \\ p_f=(2650kg)((62km)/(h)*\frac{1\text{ m/s}}{(3.6km)/(h)}) \\ p_f=45638.8\text{ kgm/s} \end{gathered}

Thus, the final momentum is 45638.8 kgm/s.

Part (d)

The direction of final momentum will same as the direction of final velocity i.e., south.

Thus, the direction of final momentum is south.
