The evaluation of the expression 2j + 3/5 for j is

  • 1⅗
  • 2⅕
  • 4⅒

How to evaluate expressions?

2j + 3/5

When j = ½

2j + 3/5

2(½) + 3/5

= 1 + 3/5

= 1⅗

When j = 4/5

2j + 3/5

Substitute j = 4/5 into the expression

= 2(4/5) + 3/5

= 8/5 + 3/5

= (8+3)/5

= 11/5

= 2⅕

When j = 1¾

2j + 3/5

=2(1¾) + 3/5

= 2(7/4) + 3/5

= 14/4 + 3/5

= 7/2 + 3/5

Find the lowest common multiple

= 41/10

= 4⅒
