If you add two negative integers, what will the sign on the sum be? Explain.
the sign will be negative
For example : (-2) + (-5) = -7
another example: (-13) + (-24) = -27
----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
If you add two integers with different signs, how can you tell whether the sum will be positive, negative, or zero?
If the integers with different signs:
1. the sum will be positive if the positive number > the negative number
for example: (-5) + 9 = 4
2. the sum will be zero if they are equal (with out considering he signs)
for example: (-14) + 14 = 0 {not 14 = 14, with out considering the signs}
3. the sum will be negative when ( with out considering the signs) the value of the digits of the negative number > the positive number
for example: (-39) + (15) = -24
note: 39 > 15
