An you can also use the commutative property to "flip" the equation

Let's rewrite -8.125 as 8 1/8 because we know 1/8=0.125

And let's write it as a improper fraction - 65/8 and let's write 7 3/8 too as 59/8

Now we have to use the distributive property and subtract 65/8 from 59/8 (59/8 - 65/8) and you will get -6/8 or simplified -3/4 or in decimal -0.75
