The difference in height of the buildren and its shadow length = 5 meters

Step-by-step explanation:

shadow of building = 20 meters

let the height of the building = x meters

Height of a woman= 1.8 meters

Shadow of the woman = 2.4meters

We make a ratio to find the height of the building:

height of the building/shadow of building = Height of a woman/Shadow of the woman

x/20 = 1.8/2.4

cross multiply:

2.4(x) = 1.8(20)

2.4x = 36

Divide both sides by 2.4:

2.4x/2.4 = 36/2.4

x = 15 meters

Hence, the height of the building = 15 meters

The difference in height of the building and its shadow length = shadow length of the building - height of building

= 20 - 15

The difference in height of the buildren and its shadow length = 5 meters
