The Maurya Empire was ruled by Emperor Ashoka and it stretched into Afghanistan, reaching places like present-day Kandahar.
In the 13th century, the Mongol Empire, commanded by Genghis Khan and his family, attacked Afghanistan. This caused a lot of damage and big changes in the area.
The Timurid Empire was started by a man named Timur, also known as Tamerlane. They took over Afghanistan and made it part of their big empire in Central Asia.
The Mughal Empire was a big kingdom that started in India and also took over some areas in Afghanistan like Kabul and Kandahar.
