let the number of people in the class be x

⅚ of the number of pupils in a class is expressed as ⅚x

4 greater than three-quarters of the number in the class is expressed as 3/4x+4

Equating both expressions

⅚x = 3/4x + 4

5x/6 - 3x/4 = 4

(10x-9x)/12 = 4

x/12 = 4

x = 4*12

x = 48

Hence the number of pupils in the class​ is 48 pupils
