Given:

A line passing through point (2,5) with gradient 3.

To find:

The equation of the line.

Solution:

Point slope form: if a line passes through the point
(x_1,y_1) and m is the slope or gradient, then the equation of line is

y-y_1=m(x-x_1)

y-5=3(x-2)

y-5=3(x)+3(-2)

y-5=3x-6

Adding 5 on both sides, we get

y=3x-6+5

y=3x-1

Therefore, the equation of the line is
y=3x-1.
