The different LSA types are described, including Type 1 and Type 3 LSAs.
a. Type 1 LSA: This LSA describes a network that has a designated router (DR) and a backup designated router (BDR). The DR is responsible for maintaining neighbor relationships, flooding LSAs, and calculating the shortest path tree. The BDR takes over the DR's responsibilities if the DR fails.
b. Type 3 LSA: This LSA is used to describe a subnet in another area. It is generated by an area border router (ABR) and is flooded to all other areas to inform them of the existence of the subnet.
