This role has changed over time and women have been questioning these roles that were given to them. In 1917, women began to claim roles of greater importance and appreciation, which would integrate them, once and for all, into modern society. Eventually, women were promoted to politically influential citizens who would later become an active component of social change regarding women's rights to vote, work and receive an equal education.
