What is the general message or thesis behind the last couplet of this poem?

"(Probably the dark blue skin//)
Of a black man matches the dark blue skin/
Of his son the way one twilight matches another."
The poem is “American Sonnet for My Past and Future Assassin [Probably twilight makes blackness dangerous]" I understand most of the poem but have an essay specifically surrounding the meaning of the last couplet and while I get the general idea the specific thesis of the couplet I don't understand.
