The graph of a quadratic equation is shown in the image attached below, whose vertex must be determined. Vertices are absolute extrema of quadratic equations, represented by parabolae, whose definition is (x, y) = (h, k). Where h and k are horizontal and vertical distances with respect to origin, that is, the point of intersection between x-axis and y-axis on Cartesian plane.

In accordance with the image, the coordinates of the vertex of the parabola are (x, y) = (0, - 3).
