Some positive effects of the three major blackouts of 2003 in Canada include the following; New software was introduced to prevent errors and better alert systems were installed.

What caused the blackout?

The North East blackout was a large-scale electricity outage that affected many parts of Canada. The blackout occurred as a result of some overgrown trees that had not been trimmed. These tries affected electricity poles and caused a huge blackout.

A positive result of this event was that new technologies were put in place to alert the authorities about trimming trees close to power lines. This has curtailed the repeat of events like this.
