If one object costs $x then p objects will cost $px.

Given data:

It is given that they spend $250 on decorations and $12 per person for dinner.

Now the cost $250 is fixed.

Now, if cost od dinner for one person is $12.

So the cost of dinner for p persons will be $12p

Therefore, total cost 't' will be

t=12p+250
