The journey of a car is shown on the velocity-time graph below.

In the final part of the journey, the car decelerates at a constant rate of 1.5 m/s^2

The value of t on the velocity time graph is: t = 16.6 s

How to solve the velocity Time Graph?

In velocity time graphs, we know that the velocity is usually on the y-axis while time is usually on the x-axis.

Now, we also know that:

Acceleration = Velocity/time

Thus:

1.5 = 24/(t - 15)

1.5(t - 15) = 24

t - 15 = 24/1.5

t - 15 = 1.6

t = 15 + 1.6

t = 16.6 s
