The area and perimeter of the compound shape are 128.78 and 50.9 respectively.

Area is the measure of the extent of a surface, often measured in square units.

Perimeter is the total length of the boundary of a two-dimensional figure, representing the sum of all its sides.

We need to find AB first

AB = √ 8.3² - 7²

AB = √ 19.89

AB = 4.5

To find the area;

The compound shape can be divided into trapezoid and triangle

area of trapezoid = 1/2(a+b)h

= 1/2( 12.4 + 16.9) 7

= 1/2 × 29.3 × 7

= 102.55 cm²

area of triangle;

ED = 12.2 - 7 = 5.2 cm

area = 1/2 × 4.3 × 12.2

= 26.23

area of the shape = 102.55 + 26.23

= 128.78 cm²

Perimeter = 8.3 + 4.5 + 8.1 + 8.1 + 4.3 + 12.2 + 5.4

= 50.9 cm
