Lets rewite these as fractions.

2 2/7

2 can be written as 14/7

Now we can add the two: 14/7 + 2/7 = (16/7)

5 1/6

5 can be written as 30/6

Add the two: 30/6 + 1/6 = (31/6)

To find the area, multiply the 2 dimensions:

(16/7)*(31/6) = (496/42)

This can be reduced to (248/21) {Removing "2" from both the top and bottom: 2*(248)/2(21) = (248/21)

496/42 = 11 34/42 or 11 17/21 cm^2
