the dna template fragment shown was sequenced by the sanger method. a sample of the dna was reacted with dna polymerase and each of the four dntps. one of the ddntps was added to each of the nucleotide mixtures as labelled on the drawing. what is the sequence of the template strand?

Chain termination method uses ddNTPs which terminate the reaction. The template sequence is 5' ATCATGCC 3'

This method is sanger sequencing which is also known as chain termination method.

Fragment 1: ddGTP was added, indicating the last nucleotide is not GTP. Therefore, the last nucleotide is A. Fragment 2: ddATP was added, indicating the last nucleotide is not ATP. Therefore, the last nucleotide is T.

Fragment 3: ddCTP was added, indicating the last nucleotide is not CTP. Therefore, the last nucleotide is G. Fragment 4: ddTTP was added, indicating the last nucleotide is not TTP. Therefore, the last nucleotide is C.
