The probability that a random bird chosen from among these is NOT a duck is 0.67

Given the total number of birds = 262
No of geese = 65
No of ducks = 84
No of robins = 133

The probability that a random bird chosen from among these is not a duck is 89/131.

The probability that a random bird chosen from among these is not a duck is 98/131.

What is probability?

Probability is the likelihood of an event.

To find probability that a random bird chosen from among these is NOT a duck Given the total number of birds = 262

No of geese = 65

No of ducks = 84

No of robins = 133, we proceed as follows.

To find the probability of not a duck, P(not duck) = total number of birds not a duck/total number of birds.

So, total number of bords not a duck = No of geese + No of robins

= 65 + 133

= 198

Total number of birds = 262

So, the probability of not a duck, P(not duck) = total number of birds not a duck/total number of birds.

= 198/262

= 98/131

So, P(not duck) = 98/131
