f(x) = x^2 + x - 6

g(x) = x^2 - 2x - 15

Process

factor both functions

f(x) = (x + 3)(x - 2)

g(x) = (x - 5)(x + 3)

Divide them:

f(x) / g(x) = [(x + 3)(x - 2)] / [x - 5)(x + 3)]

Simplify like terms

f(x) / g(x) = (x - 2)/ (x - 5)
