The water in this solution will retain the dissolved salt if you don't stir it for 8hours. Any particles that aren't dissolved will eventually sink to the bottom of the cup. We call this process sedimentation.
What is solution ?
When water and salt (sodium chloride) are combined, the salt dissolves and forms a solution. The attraction between the ions and water molecules causes the sodium
and chloride
ions to be surrounded by water molecules.
The salt should have mostly dissolved after 30 seconds of stirring, leaving Cup A with a clear or slightly hazy solution.
