Answer:

Let the linear expression be f(x)

so let's take a random linear expression:

f(x) =
5x - (6x)/(9) + 5 - x√(2)

so we can multiply all non-fractional terms by 9, and divide by 9:

(9(5x))/(9) - (6x)/(9) - ((5)(9))/(9) - (9x√(2) )/(9)

now open all brackets and combine all fractions into one

(45x-6x-45-9x√(2))/(9)

now simplify further and take x common

(3x(13-3√(2))-45)/(9)

separate the operation and simplify it further

(x(13-3√(2)) )/(3) - 5
