h is the perpendicular distance between the bases b₁ and b₂

here b₁ (lower base) = 2 cm , b₂ (upper base ) = 6 cm

and h = 5 cm ( distance from lower base to upper base ) , then

(1)/(2) × 5 × (2 + 6) = 2.5 × 8 = 20 cm²
